Europe ERP Environment & Release Manager



Job Description


The Europe ERP Environment & Release Manager will be part of Sysco Europe technology team supporting our ERP Platform.This role will report into the D365 Platform Owner. There will be a D365/AX Platform Lead reporting into this role. 

Europe ERP Environment & Release Manager will own the environment strategy & it’s implementation, environment maintenance, governance and the end-to-end release management process. This role will work closely with functional, development, data and integrations teams. They will create environment roadmaps based on multiple project requirements, set environment guidelines, along with the provision and management of environments (release, refreshes) through the application lifecycle through to release while coordinating Database and environment refreshes (including obfuscation where required) for testing and operational use.

Dimensions and Role context 

The role will work closely with the Europe Technology Team, European Infrastructure and Service Team, Global Cloud Platform team and Identity and Access Management Team, all of which are working across multiple time zones and within a matrix organisation. The role will communicate at Executive level (CxO) on a regular basis. The role will be integral to ensuring the delivery of our ERP transformation program as part of the D365 Platform team.  

Principal accountabilities 

  • Define, agree and implement the D365 environment strategy, ensuring best practices, global environment and security related policies are followed.

  • Conduct environment build preparation followed by deployment with azure pipelines.

  • Work with global teams to ensure guidance and processes relating to security roles and user management are followed. 

  • Acts as the gatekeeper of non-prod/production environment, ensuring conformance to policies (e.g. Change Management) and operational processes/procedures, release integration testing and production validation.

  • Define, agree and implement a release management strategy building in appropriate checkpoints ensuring optimum code quality.

  • Function as a subject matter expert in release and environment management.

  • Develop and maintain the forward plan the release schedules and cycles across the environment.

  • Govern release program activities (for example, cross-functional release integration testing and performance testing) designed to provide key stakeholders with pertinent information, such as summary data, key performance indicators (KPIs) and metrics.

  • Manage release related risks, issues, and cross platform deployment dependencies.

  • Ensure consistency between environments is maintained. And conduct environment refreshes as needed.

  • Communicates release management objectives, concepts and policies across all IT domains and to the business, when appropriate.

  • Works closely with change managers, the program management office, project managers and the Change Advisory Board to plan releases and manage the release schedule, taking into consideration associated business and technical risks.

  • Oversees release changes into production through controlled promotion processes or documented support procedures. As much as possible, automates the configuration changes/updates to the production environment to promote efficiency and consistency.

  • Provide environment and release best practice for all global D365 F&O deployments. 

  • Acts as a liaison between Product Support Managers (for example, incident and change) to ensure process alignment.
